Image for Human Capability

Even with major advances in technology and systems, people will remain a valuable, and expensive, component of the UK’s overall military capability.

The Strategic Defence and Security Review reiterated that:

Our people must continue to be our winning edge. We will need highly capable and motivated personnel with specialist skills, including cultural understanding; strategic communications to influence and persuade; and the agility, training and education to operate effectively in an increasingly complex environment.

Human, social and behavioural sciences spans a broad range of technical disciplines exploring our understanding of human behaviour, generating options to enhance capability and meet the challenges posed by complex socio-technical systems in the defence and security arenas.
